Rural Areas: Cm To Launch Indira Rasoi For Rural Areas |

Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot will launch the ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’ for rural areas from Niwai in Tonk district on Sunday where the Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will address a public gathering on Sunday.
The public meeting will be held on the premises of Vivekananda Model School at Jhilai village at 12pm.
Senior Congress leaders, including AICC in-charge SS Randhawa, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, visited the venue and took stock of the arrangements on Saturday.
Ashok Gehlot on Friday went to the venue by road after his helicopter was denied permission to fly due to the ongoing G-20 meet in Delhi.
Tonk is the assembly constituency of former deputy CM Sachin Pilot.
The adjoining assembly constituency of Niwai is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and is currently represented by Congress MLA Prashant Bairwa.
According to the government release 1,000 rural rasois will be set up initially.
There are 992 urban rasois functioning in urban areas currently, providing meals at a concessional rate of Rs 8 per plate.
Gehlot had announced to run 1000 Indira Rasoi in rural towns through Rajeevika during the Sakhi Conference on August 18, 2023 in Jaipur.
The scheme is being started from Sunday in rural towns with population of more than 5,000. This will increase livelihood opportunities for rural women.
