Sacked Rajasthan minister Rajendra Singh Gudha joins Shiv Sena

JAIPUR: Former Rajasthan minister and Congress MLA Rajendra Singh Gudha, who was removed from his ministerial position, has now joined the Shiv Sena, as announced by Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday.
Speaking at an event in Gudha’s assembly constituency, Udaipurwati, located in Jhunjhunu district, Shinde extended a warm welcome to Gudha, emphasizing that Gudha had relinquished his ministerial role in the interest of the people.
Shinde stated, “Gudha has become a part of the Shiv Sena. I extend my heartfelt welcome to him into the Shiv Sena family.”
Shinde highlighted that Gudha had raised concerns about women’s safety and law and order, which led to his removal from office. Shinde questioned, “What was wrong with what he said?”
Gudha, who formerly held the position of minister of state for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development in Rajasthan, was dismissed from his role in July. His removal came after he criticized the Congress-led government in Rajasthan during a state assembly session, drawing comparisons between sexual violence in strife-torn Manipur and crimes against women in Rajasthan.
Subsequent to his removal, Gudha claimed to possess a ‘red diary’ containing details of alleged illicit transactions by chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
Shinde underscored the need for enhanced law and order, women’s safety, employment opportunities for youth, and agricultural progress in Rajasthan. He further emphasized the necessity for industrial growth in the state, particularly in sectors like mining, to generate job opportunities for local youth and prevent their migration to other states in search of employment.
Shinde concluded by stating that Gudha had chosen to relinquish his ministerial role in pursuit of truth, which prompted his decision to join the Shiv Sena.
Regarding the possibility of forming an alliance with the BJP in Rajasthan, Shinde stated that the Shiv Sena would prioritize the “politics of development” during elections, and decisions on alliances would be made closer to the polls.
Rajendra Singh Gudha had contested the 2018 assembly elections on a BSP ticket and later joined the Congress along with five other BSP MLAs. In the previous assembly elections, the BSP had won six seats, and all the MLAs had subsequently joined the ruling party.
