Social Media Office: Social Media Office Of Govt At Secretariat Engulfed In Flames | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, broke out at the state government’s social media office in the secretariat on Wednesday. The fire started on the fourth floor of the secretariat’s library, where the social media office is located. The blaze quickly engulfed the entire office, destroying several computers and books.
According to officials, the incident occurred at 8am, when staff noticed smoke coming out from the closed office.Security staff attempted to control the fire at their level. However, by the time the fire was brought under control, the furniture, computers, and books kept in the office had turned to ashes.
A security officer at the building said that prima facie the fire seems to have been due to a short circuit.
Upon receiving information about the fire, senior officers and employees of the department reached the office and began inspecting the items that could be salvaged. A source at the secretariat said, “The fire brigade was not informed about the incident. Even after government property worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes, the fire brigade was not called from the secretariat to control the fire. Neither the Bani Park fire station nor the one located at 22 Godown were informed about the fire.”
Social media was abuzz after the incident. Union minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat shared poetry by Kaif Bhopali on his X handle. Lokesh Sharma, OSD to the chief minister, responded to the BJP leader with another piece of shayari.

A scrap godown in Thane, Maharashtra was destroyed by a fire. The incident occurred in Shilphata on Thursday evening. No injuries were reported and both civic and fire officials responded promptly to bring the fire under control within an hour and a half. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the godown has suffered significant damage.
