Schemes: Folk Songs Praising Govt Schemes To Play At ‘mehngai Raahat Camps’ From Apr 24 | Jaipur News
Jaipur: “Chiranjeevi yojana mein do-do beema hove saath; durghatana mein deve 10 laakh, swasthya mein 25 laakh, janta ko dhan janta mein; Arey jug jug jivo re chiranjeevi yojana re, mil gyo swasthya ko adhikaar, janta ko hit janta mein; Rajasthan ko badhaayo maan, janta ro dhan janta mein.”
As the elections in Rajasthan draw closer, such songs, composed by members of Soochna Evam Rozgar Adhikar Abhiyan, Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) and folk artists of Rajasthan, will reverberate at the state government’s ‘Mehngai Raahat Camps’, to be organised from April 24, to create awareness about various flagship programmes of the state.
Sounding the poll bugle, each song, dedicated to a flagship scheme, will work as political messaging for the government in the run-up to the assembly elections.
A group of folk artists, led by Saroop Khan Mahabar of Barmer, performed these songs during the Ambedkar Award state-level felicitation ceremony organised on Ambedkar Jayanti at B M Birla Auditorium, and earned appreciation from chief minister Ashok Gehlot himself.
Schemes like Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, social security pension schemes, Mukhyamantri Gas Cylinder Yojana, Mukhyamantri Nishulk Krishi Bijli Yojana, Annapurna food packet scheme and MGNREGA find a prominent mention in these songs, the lyrics of which are written by social activists including Shankar Singh, Ramniwas, Paras Banjara, Saroop Khan Mahabar, Ali Khan, Swarup Khan, Hemnath, Satyanarayan, Ramlal and Moti Ram.
“The idea behind composing these songs was to create awareness among people about the schemes at the Mehngai Raahat camps. The state government had asked us to conduct a workshop to train people who would be involved in organising these camps. During the workshop, we decided to compose these songs through which it would be easy to educate people,” said Shankar Singh.
Saroop Khan said the team was composing another song on mehngai. “We are writing a song on mehngai and will finish composing the music before the relief camp starts,” he said.
Another song that has been composed goes:“Rajasthan sarkaar budget banaave, janta ko dhan janta paave; bachat raahat badhat ko laabh dilwaye, arey janta ko haq janta paave; pehle pension 500 milti thi, ab milela pura hazaar, janta ko dhan janta mein; arey pension tha kee badhe lee 15% saalaana, Rajasthan ka budget apaar, janata ko dhan janta mein.”
