Jaipur: Considering the possibility of deteriorating law and order situation in Jaipur, district magistrate and collector Rajan Vishal on Wednesday issued an order to impose Section 144 in Jaipur rural (other than police commissionerate area), made effective from 11 am.
The prohibitory orders will be effective in the district (except police commissionerate area) till further orders. Meanwhile, internet services (except voice calls and broadband internet) will also remain suspended in the whole state till further orders.
Vishal said there will be a complete ban on organising all kinds of rallies, processions, demonstrations, meetings and gatherings on public roads in the district (other than police commissionerate area). The restrictions will not apply on marriage ceremonies and funeral processions. “A gathering of five persons or more at public places without the permission of the competent authority shall be prohibited. It is mandatory to obtain prior permission from the sub-divisional magistrate concerned for organising rallies, processions, demonstrations, meetings and gatherings at public places,” said Vishal.
The district collector said no person would carry any types of weapons and move around in public places. This restriction will not be applicable to police, home guards, army, central security forces and such employees of the state and central government who are authorised to keep weapons to discharge their duties.
