Seepage Of Water At Sms Hospital Icu, Basement Flooded | Jaipur News

An incident of falling of plaster in radiotherapy ICU was reported early morning but no one was hurt. In other government hospitals, including Mahila Chikitsalaya, Gangori Hospital and Jaipuria Hospital, rains caused problems for the patients and hospital administration.
“Backflow of water travelling from Adarsh Nagar, Jawahar Nagar and other nearby areas entered our wards from drains. North South wing basement received water. We shifted at least 15 patients from the ward and removed water from the basement,” said Dr Achal Sharma, medical superintendent, SMS Hospital.
Basement of Bangar block of SMS Hospital was inundated with rainwater. The electricians had a tough job to save all the electric points exposed to the rainwater. The false ceiling of radiotherapy OPD has fallen due to rain, but no one was hurt in the incident. Besides, leakage at four to five different places was also reported. “We have informed the PWD department about all the issues which we had to face today due to rains as they need to be addressed and repairing work is needed in the hospital,” Dr Sharma said.
In the trauma centre, leakage of water was reported from a semi-ICU on the second floor of the building.“The water entered into the semi-ICU from the joints from above floors through false ceiling. Our staff immediately addressed the issue. No patient suffered any problem due to the incident,” said Dr Anurag Dhakar, senior professor (orthopaedics), SMS Hospital and in-chrage of trauma centre.
