Select Committee To Meet On Feb 15 Over Right To Health Bill | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: On the sidelines of protest against Right to Health (RTH) Bill, private hospitals have now pinpointed ‘shortcomings’ in Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme. Doctors, from different associations, who gathered at Jaipur Medical Association (JMA) Sawai Man Singh hospital on Sunday alleged that the government has allotted a limited number of packages for private hospitals and kept many of those for government hospitals.
They reiterated that the cost of packages is not feasible and they would continue their protest against the Right to Health (RTH) Bill. The doctors also appealed to deny treatment to patients under Chiranjeevi health insurance scheme. Hospital Board of India secretary Dr Sarvesh Joshi said that the rate of the package’s cost included in the Chiranjeevi Yojana have not been increased for a long time.
JMA president Dr Tarun Ojha, said that they will continue to protest and boycott the scheme. He added that the private hospitals have been allocated with limited packages under Chiranjeevi scheme. The select committee, formed by state assembly, will meet on February 15 again in which the doctors are hopeful that the committee will address their issues.
JMA secretary Dr Anurag Sharma said that the bill has lots of provisions which are not in favour of doctors. “The government is willing to bring the Right to Health Act but amendments in the bill is not the solution. We don’t want the bill to be tabled in the state assembly,” he said.
The doctors in the meeting said, “All clinical private institutions have been asked to boycott all government schemes of the state government including Chiranjeevi Yojana, Rajasthan Government Health Scheme.”
