Serveware, cutlery from Jaipur to treat G20 heads of states, dignitaries

JAIPUR: It’s just not marble and sandstone statues that have gone from Rajasthan to beautify Delhi for the G20 Summit, even the serveware and cutlery for lunches and dinners for the head of the states and visiting dignitaries have been sourced from the state.
Arun Pabuwal, known for his designing and creating exclusive serveware for the royalty in Europe and personal use of US Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama during their India visits in 2010 and 2015, was roped in by ITC for the G20. He said many finished options and metal compositions were considered, including kansa and hundreds of samples were produced, before the hotel chain reached the final G20 silverware collection. The collection has been crafted using various metal alloys which are finally coated with the thick layer of pure silver.
“The design process and deliberations began almost six months back with the ITC Hotel Maurya, New Delhi, which worked with the PMO, MEA and ITPO for food presentation concepts and designs. Such was the passion for perfection, our company was left with no more than three weeks to deliver almost 15,000 pieces of cutlery and other serve ware,” said Pabuwal.
His firm Arun’s Group of Companies makes serve ware and cutlery for renowned designers and architects worldwide including the likes of Georgio Armani. Besides serve ware, Pabuwal has designed and supplied trophies for world-class events like Reliance World Cup 1987, MRF World Series Cup 1989, Hero Cup 1993, Wills World Cup 1996 and the ICC World Cup, among others.
Over the decades the group has branched out to specialized fields like curating cutlery and silverware for speciality restaurants and hotels in India and abroad, catered to exotic products like the luxury train ‘Palace on Wheels’ and the dining room at the Hyderabad House at New Delhi where guests, dignitaries are entertained.
