Service Rifle: Cisf Jawan Accidentally Triggers Own Service Rifle In Sikar’s Fatehpur, Dies | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A CISF jawan was killed after an accidental discharge from his service rifle near Buddhagiri Mandi in Fatehpur area of Rajasthan’s Sikar district on Tuesday. Devi Lal was serving in the 402 Company in Guwahati and was engaged in election security duties.
A native of Chanana village in Chirawa, Jhunjhunu, Lal, accompanied by three of his colleagues, drove to a local tea shop near Buddhagiri Mandi in the wee hours of Tuesday.After having tea, they were returning around 6am when Lal inadvertently pressed the trigger of his rifle, resulting in the bullet penetrating his jaws, passing through his head before exiting through the car’s roof.
Indraj Marodia, the SHO of Fatehpur Kotwali, said: “The rifle was positioned between the knees of the jawan, who was seated in the vehicle when the accidental discharge happened.”
The jawan was taken to the Trauma Centre of Government Dhanuka Sub District Hospital in Fatehpur in the same car, where the doctors declared him dead.
Lal had joined the job seven years ago. He was the youngest of four siblings. Two elder sisters are married. Lal got married only one-and-a-half years ago and the couple had no children.
