Shivering Cold: Shivering Cold and Lowest Temperature in Fatehpur Jaipur | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Many places in the state continued to witness a dip in mercury for the second consecutive day on Thursday, with Fatehpur remaining the coldest with a minimum temperature of 5.1 degrees Celsius. The Met office said that cold wave conditions will further aggravate in the state and a dip of almost 4 degrees Celsius on average would be witnessed in the coming days.
People in Jaipur woke up to the coldest morning of the season with a minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius. It was followed by a pleasant afternoon with a maximum temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius. Roads wore an empty look during early morning and late evening hours as people confined themselves to their homes. Jaipur has been witnessing dip in the mercury for the past one week.
Many places in western Rajasthan and in some other regions would see minimum temperatures of around 6 degrees Celsus or below in the coming days, the Met office said. “In the next one week, most places in the state would witness minimum temperature of below 10 degrees Celsius. Some places are likely to witness minimum temperatures of or below 6 degrees Celsius,” said an officer at the Met office Jaipur.
Fatehpur was followed by Sikar with a minimum temperature of 6.8°C, Churu 7°C, Sangariya 7.4°C, and Sirohi 9.3°C . The Met office said from December 15 onwards, places including Fatehpur, Sikar and Churu are likely to witness minimum temperatures below 5°C.

The city recorded its lowest minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Lodhi Road recorded an even lower temperature of 8.7 degrees Celsius. The drop in temperature is attributed to clear skies and north-westerly winds bringing cold air from the Himalayas. The day temperature will remain in the same range due to sunlight, leading to cooler nights than usual.
