Shivering Cold: Shivering Cold and Lowest Temperature in Fatehpur Jaipur | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Cold wave conditions aggravated in the state on Sunday due to the active northerly winds. A further dip in the mercury was witnessed. Fatehpur remained coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of 4.8 degree Celsius, the Met reports said.
Ground frost has also been witnessed at some places in Fatehpur and Churu. Met office said that from Monday onwards, majority of the places will witness shivering cold conditions and some places, including Fatehpur, Churu and Pilani, are likely to witness cold wave conditions.
There has been a continuous dip in the mercury for the past couple of days since clear sky has been witnessed. “Since the factors, including western disturbances and upper air cyclonic circulation have vanished, northerly winds have started. The northerly winds have guided the mercury to take a dip in the state,” said an officer with Met office, Jaipur.
People in Jaipur woke up to a chilly morning when a minimum temperature of 11.6 degree Celsius was recorded. It was followed by breezy afternoon when a maximum temperature of 25.8 degree Celsius was recorded. Roads wore an empty look during early morning and late evening hours. Since fog and mist were witnessed during early morning hours the air, road and rail traffic was smooth from Jaipur. Met office further stated that in the coming days Jaipur is likely to witness its minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius.
Fatehpur was followed by Sikar where a minimum temperature of 5.5 degree Celsius was recorded, Sangariya and Churu 7 degree Celsius each, Pilani 7.6, Sirohi 7.7, Jalore 7.9, Jaisalmer 9.4, Jodhpur 9.6, Sriganganagar 9.8, Bhilwara 10.4, Ajmer 10.5 and Barmer 12.3.
Met office in its forecast said that mercury will further take a dip in the state and there is a possibility of dip of almost 2 degree Celsius in the minimum and maximum temperatures. Majority of the places are likely to witness its minimum temperature on or below 10 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature also dropped to 23.4 degrees Celsius, the lowest since November 28. Wind speeds of up to 20 kmph kept the sky clear, but are expected to decrease slightly on Monday. The air quality improved slightly but remained within the very poor category, with an AQI of 314. The IITM forecast predicts that the air quality will remain in the very poor range for the next few days.
Clear skies, chillier nights: Expect temperature to drop to 7 degrees Celsius by December 11
The India Meteorological Department predicts that the minimum temperature in Delhi may drop to 7 degrees Celsius by December 11. On Wednesday, the city recorded its lowest minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius. The night temperature is expected to decrease gradually due to clear skies and north-westerly winds bringing cold air from the Himalayas. The maximum temperature is likely to stay close to 26.4 degrees Celsius. Delhi’s air quality remains in the poor category with an AQI of 286, slightly better than the previous day.
