Shot At: Jeweller Shot At In His Flat, Assailants Decamp On Bike | Jaipur News

DCP (North) Rashi Dogra Dudi said that jeweller Naveen Soni sustained injury on his thigh and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. As per a local resident of the apartment, two men on a bike entered the building and informed the security guard that they were going to meet Soni on the fifth floor.
The two accused then rang the bell of Soni’s apartment number 502. “They rang the bell, and Soni’s wife opened the door. The accused asked for Soni. When Soni arrived at the door, the two accused yelled why he was not paying back the money to one Rakesh, and one of them drew out a weapon and fired at Soni,” said an official.
Soni and his family pushed back and attempted to close the door on the accused. A struggle ensued, during which the accused threatened to fire again.
Ritik Soni, a relative of Soni, said that the accused had managed to enter into the flat, but other family members overpowered them and pushed them out shut the door. The accused then fired on the door before leaving the scene five minutes later.
FSL expert Abhay Pratap Singh said that the accused fired three rounds, with one hitting Soni’s thigh, while the other two were lodged in the main door of the apartment.
Singh also said that the police have recovered the cartridges from the crime scene and investigating the case. The two accused then fled from the elevator of the building and quickly sped away on their bike.
The residents of the building said that the accused stayed around for nearly five minutes before fleeing on their bikes. As gunshots rang out, the residents rushed to check on Soni, who was lying in a pool of blood. He was quickly taken to a nearby private hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. According to police sources, Soni is a native of Sikar’s Sri Madhopur district and lives with his family in Jaipur.
