Sikar: Sikar Remains Closed After Coaching Student Drowns | Jaipur News
Jaipur: People in Sikar observed a shutdown on Sunday in protest against the death of an 18-year-old student at a private coaching institute who drowned in an inundated sewage tank amidst heavy rainfall on Saturday. Police on Sunday afternoon registered a case of causing death due to negligence while the executive engineer of Sikar municipal council was suspended.
Sumendhanand Saraswati, the Sikar MP, and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal demanded action against the authorities. In the afternoon, the family agreed to the police request for a postmortem. The family was promised a compensation of Rs 35 lakh.
