Sms Treats 3.8k Patients Despite Boycott Of Opd Services By Docs | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Despite faculties and resident doctors of SMS Medical College and Hospital boycotting OPD services on Wednesday, the administration managed to provide treatment to 3,800 patients and conducted at least 14,000 investigations by making effective arrangements.
In the OPDs, medical college principal and controller Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta, SMS hospital superintendent Dr Achal Sharma and other administrative officers of SMS medical college including additional principals, additional superintendents and other administrative officers attended patients and provided treatment to them.
“OPD was not affected much due to the boycott of work by medical college faculty, as we made arrangements to attend to the patients with the help of administrative officers, senior resident doctors and nursing staff,” said Dr Bagarhatta.
The turn out of patients at the hospital was low as people were aware about the doctors’ boycott of work for a day. Also as Ramadan and Ram Navami are being celebrated, the number of patients has also decreased. Senior professor in orthopaedics Dr DS Meena remained busy in providing treatment to the OPD patients.
“Normally on an average, we attend to over 8,000 patients daily in the OPD, but on Wednesday patients did not turn up in the numbers which they normally come due to festivals and doctors strike. We attended all the 3,800 patients who came to the hospital for treatment,” said Dr Achal Sharma, superintendent, SMS Hospital.
In JK Lon hospital, which is a child specialty hospital, deputy superintendent Dr Hari Ram Meena said, “All the patients who came to the hospital have been provided with treatment.”
