Solar: Govt Has Failed To Tap Solar Power, Rathore Tells Rerc | Jaipur News

Jaipur: During a hearing on tariff petitions for distributed solar plants in Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore on Tuesday said that Rajasthan had failed to utilize its resources to provide cheaper solar power.
Rathore took part in the hearing as a public representative. He said that 75% of solar power generated in the state went outside. He said the government should try to make it 50%.
Rajasthan Solar Association, which also participated in the hearing, urged the government to adop a proactive approach to renewable energy, especially solar. Sunil Bansal, president of RSA, said, “Solar plants should not be questioned why they are producing more. They should be encouraged.” TNN
