Sonpapdis: 520kg Rasgullas And 1,400kg Sonpapdis Seized In City As Mfg Date Missing On Boxes | Jaipur News
Jaipur: At least 12 sweet shops in the city were inspected by different teams formed by the Food Safety Officer in Jaipur. They collected samples for quality testing.
Samples of rasgullas and sonpapdis were taken from Patwari Namkeen Bhandar, Bani Park.
A health department official said that since manufacturing date and used by date along with other details were not marked on the boxes, 520kg rasgullas and 1,400kg sonpapdis available at the spot were seized.
The official said that the owner of the store did not present any invoice to the food safety officers but told officials that the sonpapdis was purchased from the factory of Bhagwati Grih Udyog in Dadi Ka Phatak area. A raid was carried out at Bhagwati Grih Udyog.
About 398kg sonpapadis was seized. Information like manufacturing date, licence number were not marked on the boxes.
Recently, the health department issued clear directions to the food safety officers not to be negligent in achieving the targets for enforcement of the Food Safety Act ahead of Diwali and marriage season.
The health department will conduct decoy operations for preventing food adulteration and also cancel food licences of habitual offenders.
