Jaipur: To ensure transparency and effectiveness in state government work, a circular issued by administrative reforms (AR) department and signed by chief secretary Usha Sharma, stated that every employee of all the departments/offices will be transferred to a new posting every three years and under special circumstances/as per requirement shall be transferred after 5 years.
The circular has been issued in the wake of police seizing around Rs 2.31 crore kept in a bag and 1 kg gold bar from an almirah at the basement of the department of Information and Technology (DoIT) at secretariat’s Yojana Bhawan. Chief secretary Usha Sharma, Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra, ADGP (crime) Dinesh MN and commissioner of police (Jaipur) Anand Srivastava had addressed the media in this regard late in the night at the Secretariat on May 19.
The circular said posting of an employees in a department for a long period has adverse effects in government work. TNN
