State Firm Gets Bids Of ₹2.61 A Unit For Solar Plants | Jaipur News

Jaipur: In the competitive bidding for 1,000-MW solar power projects conducted by Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL), the state government-owned company received tariffs of Rs 2.61 per unit. The rates were lower than the Rs 2.73 that the Gujarat Urja Vikas got for its 600-MW projects in the e-reverse auction process.
While solar power developers said RUVNL did well to pull off the auction without doing it through Solar Corporation of India, there are challenges in getting evacuation approvals.
In fact, there were more than half-a-dozen proposals for evacuation approval that is pending with Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RVPN) for a long time. Solar developers said the winners of the auction should not face evacuation issues.
“RVPN is sitting over the evacuation files. There is no clarity on evacuation as to when one would get it. The department should have a clear roadmap with detailed capacity available. Developers have been waiting for approvals for a long time. Hope, the winning bidders don’t face the same problem,” said a developer, preferring anonymity.
