Stray Animals: Jmc-h Campaign To Catch Strays Amid Fest | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As rush in the Walled City has been increasing since past few days and will continue during Diwali festivities, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Heritage has started a campaign to catch stray animals from roads. The campaign will continue till November 15, said officials on Friday.
JMC Heritage commissioner Rajendra Singh Shekhawat said that on November 9 and 10, the animal management wing took action in Gopinath Temple, Gangauri Bazaar, Kanwatiya Circle, Shastri Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Bani Park and caught stray animals.The commissioner said that those who were selling and feeding fodder to cattle were also arrested. The stray cattle caught during the campaign are being sent to the cow shelter in Hingonia.
Earlier this week, JMC Heritage administration seized 40 kilogram of fodder from streets.
Appealing to city residents, Shekhawat said that all the residents should cooperate with the corporation administration in keeping the city clean and beautiful on the occasion of Diwali and citizen should not feed the animals on the road. Across markets of the Walled City, the number of stray cattle on the roads specially during night increases, as dairies leave cattle out on roads. Due to this, the risk of accident increases.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has called on the Uttar Pradesh government to disclose the number of deaths caused by attacks from stray cattle during the BJP’s rule. Yadav questioned the authenticity of BJP leaders’ promises to address the issue before the elections and demanded clarification on the compensation for victims. He also questioned the effectiveness of cow shelters and the actions taken against corruption allegations. During the 2022 assembly polls, several BJP leaders pledged to resolve the problem within 15 days of forming the government.
JMC gears up to check fire-related incidents during Diwali
Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials are preparing for Diwali by checking infrastructure and implementing fire safety measures. Fire tenders will be placed at common locations and bike fire tenders will be deployed in smaller lanes to prevent accidents. Additional water tanks will be deployed for emergencies. The department receives around 50-100 fire cases on Diwali, so inspections will be conducted to identify areas for fire brigade deployment. JMC officials will also survey buildings without firefighting measures to plan fire tender deployment. Licenses for setting up cracker shops were granted only to those with proper firefighting measures.
