Students from Rajasthan University are also trying to meet chief minister Ashok Gehlot to resolve the issue and conduct student body elections this year. In RU, two students climbed a water tank on Tuesday, and on Wednesday students climbed the administrative block and the Central Library. Around 10 students also entered the vice-chancellor’s residence and office after pouring petrol on themselves as part of protest.

Student leader Sanjay Chaudhary from RU said, “All of us are protesting and will keep protesting till it is announced that student body elections will be held.”
In Ajmer, students staged a protest outside the Government College on Wednesday demanding students’ union elections in Rajasthan. During the protest, there was a scuffle between students and police when students dropped the barricades put outside the college and attempted to block the Beawar Road.
NSUI state president Abhishek Choudhary said, “NSUI wants that student union elections must be conducted in the state and hence we are in talks with the state government.
This time, around 15-20 vice-chancellors have written to the state government stating that they will not be able to conduct elections as universities are using all resources for implementation of National Education Policy and the admission process.” ABVP national general secretary Hushyar Meena said, “NSUI is working under the direction of Ashok Gehlot. It is a request to the common students that they must not be misled by what NSUI is saying.”
