Suicide: Bsf Jawan Kills Self With Rifle On Duty In Barmer | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: A BSF jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his rifle while on duty late on Wednesday night at BOP Jats in Bakhasar police station area along the the Indo-Pak international border near Barmer. Other soldiers informed BSF officials.
On receiving the information, Bakhasar police SHO Suraj Bhan Singh reached the spot. Police took immediate action and kept the soldier’s body in the mortuary of Barmer District Hospital.On the report of BSF officials, a postmortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the BSF authorities. However, reasons for suicide have not been revealed.
According to police, Tripura resident, Manoj Kumar (24), was working as a constable in 83 battalion posted in Barmer district. He was on duty near the fencing of the Indo-Pak international border late on Wednesday night. At around 4 am in the morning, he committed suicide by shooting himself above the neck with his rifle near his post. He died on the spot.

Pak firing kills BSF trooper
A head constable of the BSF was killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan along the International Border in Jammu. This was the third violation of the 2021 ceasefire agreement in 24 days. The soldier was shot while on duty and succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The BSF personnel retaliated to the firing, and this exchange continued for some time. The deceased constable is survived by his wife and children. The body is expected to be flown back to Aizawl.
