Jaisalmer: A 20-year-old youth committed suicide a few hours after being booked for attempt to rape at Binjarad area in Barmer district. His family members have lodged a case for abetment to suicide against four persons including the woman who had lodged the attemtp to rape case.
According to police, a woman on August 22 lodged a case against deceased Asuram. She accused that he tried to enter her house forcefully and attempted to rape her. When Asuram came to know about the complaint, he committed suicide by jumping into a water tank in the field located infront of his house.
On Tuesday late evening when his family members saw his slippers outside the tank , they found Asuram’s body floating. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. His uncle lodged a case of abetment to suicide against the four persons who had lodged the case against Asuram. TNN
