Survey In 9 Dists To Identify Mother Tongue Of Students | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The education department has started a survey in nine districts of Rajasthan to identify the mother tongue for students between Class 1 and 5, said officials on Friday. The survey is being conducted in Jaipur, Pali and Sirohi districts as well as six other districts of the Udaipur division.
According to the guidelines of National Education Policy (NEP), the books will be written in students’ mother tongue and that will be the mode of education followed in classrooms.
“As per the NEP, students in primary classes will be taught in their mother tongue, so for that we have started a survey, which is initially being conducted in nine districts of the state. There are different dialects being spoken in different areas, but there is some common factor too. So, with this survey, we are trying to find out the common language, in which the textbooks or curriculum will be developed,” said a senior official from Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training.
The official said, the survey is being conducted by teachers under the guidance of chief district education officers, chief block officer and panchayat elementary education officer.
“The survey has been completed in almost all the districts and the inputs are being analysed, after which a report will be made. This report will be sent to the state government and central government authorities too, for further approval,” added the official.
Officials said that for implementation of NEP in Rajasthan, a steering committee has already been formed and one meeting has been held and district monitoring committees have also been made and with meetings being conducted every three months under the chairpersonship of the district collector.
Regular workshops are also being conducted by RSCERT to train staff for implementation of NEP and strengthening the school complex structure under NEP.
