Swachh Survekshan Survey: Civic bodies gear up for Swachh Survekshan Survey 2024 with focus on recycling | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The civic bodies in the city have started preparing for Swachh Survekshan Survey 2024 with the theme of recycling, reuse and reduce.
The municipal corporations are likely to start recycling plants in the city for solid waste management.
Naveen Bhardwaj, deputy commissioner health with JMC Greater said, “The theme of recycle, reuse, and reduce has been kept for the upcoming survey, in which a total of 4800 cities of the country will participate.Separate marks have been fixed for each activity like segregation of waste, regular waste collection, management of waste and cleanliness in the city.”
Officials also said that the municipal corporation is making a detailed plan to ensure that the two solid waste management plants in the city work to their full capacity.
“We have two plants, one in Sewapura and one on Delhi Road, where solid waste and refuse derived fuel (RDF) is processed. We are mapping the gaps and will ensure that both the plants work to their full potential and the ranking in the next cleanliness survey can be improved,” added the official.

200 waste pickers from Pune will protest at Yashwant Stadium in Nagpur, demanding the release of scholarships for their children. The students have not received the Rs 3,000 per year pre-matriculation scholarship for the past three years. The state’s apathy has withheld the amount. The scholarship is a big help for waste picker families, but it has not been disbursed. Pune zilla parishad officials stated that the state has not been contributing its 50% share of the scholarship since 2020-21.
