Jaisalmer: 13-year-old girl died after being buried under a pipeline meant for refinery project in Barmer on Monday evening near Ramdevra town in Jaisalmer district. Another girl was seriously injured.
The family members of the girl staged a dharna with the body. They were demanding action against the employees of the company and compensation. The administration officers and company employees reached the spot and spoke to the family members. Meanwhile, the deceased’s family was given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, the injured girl was given compensation of Rs 5 lakh and job to two family members after which the dharna ended.
Ramdeora police had deployed additional forces in the area.
According to the information, two sisters were playing near Chorali Fanta on Ramdevra Nachna route on Monday. While playing, the huge pipe of the Barmer refinery slipped and both girls got buried under it. One died on the spot while the other was seriously injured. The injured girl was referred to Jodhpur after first aid.
Afsana (14) of Odhania village died while Rehana was injured. Both girls had come to their grandparents’ house at Vali Khan ki Dhani.
