Jaipur: Stagnant water and flooding of drains can cause outbreaks of water-borne and vector-borne diseases in the monsoon season. The health department’s epidemiologists and doctors of preventive and social medicine are receiving training in disaster management and public health emergencies from the National Centre for Disease Control, the National Institute of Disaster Management, and the India office of US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This training is also being imparted to personnel of disaster management department and civil defence department. TNN
