This incident took place near SBI Bank Chauraha. Police said the deceased, Jagdish, a resident of Talriapada in Jaisalmer city, was returning with his daughter, Ruhika, after her school when the truck lost control and hit his bike. A tyre of the truck rolled over him while the girl escaped unhurt as she fell on the other side of the truck.
The accident sparked a protest. The locals shouted slogans against police and demonstrated with the body in front of Kotwali police station. The family agreed to take the body after post-mortem following much persuasion by police. The truck was seized and its driver was arrested, said DSP Priyanka Kumawat.
