Boxer: Ritik Boxer Sent Shooters On New Year Eve | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Gangster Ritik Boxer had initially planned to fire at the Days Hotel on New Year to stir panic in the city.
Additional DCP (West) Ram Singh said Boxer had sent three shooters to Jaipur on December 31 with an aim to fire at the hotel, but his planned failed due to security issues. The accused then returned to the hotel to fire 18 rounds on January 28.
“The three gunmen recced the hotel on December 31. They found that there were barricades all over the place and heavy footfall at the hotel. The gunmen showed the place to Boxer over a video call,” he said. As per Singh, Boxer wanted to cause maximum panic by firing at a crowded hotel. “His plans went awry when he saw security arrangements near the hotel and barricades all over the city. So, he finally called off the operation,” he said.
Arrested on Monday, Boxer was a major ringleader of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara gang. Sources said Boxer was lodged in a prison in the state in 2019 when he met Sampat Nehra.
“His meeting with Nehra helped him get closer to Bishnoi gang,” said an official.
Police said Boxer is now worried about possible repercussions from his rival gangs. “He was safely ensconced at an isolated place. He feared some rival gang of his group might launch an attack on him,” said an official.
