Jaipur: Hours after Bhajan Lal Sharma took oath as the chief minister of Rajasthan, the state government on Friday appointed three IAS officers to the chief minister’s office ‘temporarily’.
T Ravikanth, a 1998 batch IAS officer, has been given the charge as the principal secretary to the CM. Ravikanth replaced IAS officer Kuldeep Ranka, who served as the principal secretary to former chief minister Ashok Gehlot.Until Ranka is given a new posting, he will remain on APO list (awaited posting orders).
Simultaneously, Anandhi, an IAS officer of the 2007 batch, has been made the secretary to the CM and 2017 batch IAS officer Saumya Jha has been temporarily appointed CM’s joint secretary.

BJP picks Bhajan Lal Sharma as new chief minister of Rajasthan
The BJP named Sanganer MLA Bhajal Lal Sharma as the new chief minister of Rajasthan. Sharma, a first-time MLA, won the Sanganer seat in 2023. Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari and Dudu legislator Prem Chand Bairwa were appointed as deputy chief ministers. The decision was announced by defence minister Rajnath Singh at the BJP’s legislature party meeting in Jaipur. The BJP has chosen new chief ministers for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh as well.
