Brawl At Restaurant: Vigilance Team In Ajmer To Probe Charges | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A team of Rajasthan police reached Ajmer on Wednesday to investigate allegations against a suspended IPS officer that he trashed workers at a restaurant.
According to sources, the vigilance wing of the state police dispatched the team to Ajmer to examine the allegations against Sushil Kumar, a 2019-batch IPS officer. On Tuesday, the state government suspended IAS officer Girdhar and IPS officer Kumar after their names emerged in a violent altercation that allegedly occurred on Monday.
Girdhar served as the commissioner of Ajmer Development Authority (ADA), while Kumar was recently transferred from the position of additional SP Ajmer to officer on special duty (OSD) in the newly announced district of Gangpur City. Kumar belongs to the 2019 batch of IPS.
Sources indicate that the team was sent to Ajmer to speak with the injured parties and the complainant. The team will also review the CCTV footage of the incident. “We are investigating the role of the IPS officer in the case. We will also examine the CCTV footage,” said an official.
Additionally, under scrutiny are three suspended personnel from a local police station who have been accused of collaborating with the suspended IPS officer to assault restaurant workers in the early hours of Monday.
An anonymous official disclosed that an extensive probe is underway to diligently collect all evidence and determine what transpired at the restaurant on that day.
“The inquiry is in progress, and we are examining all available evidence. Once we have gathered all the necessary evidence, we will submit a detailed report,” the official stated, adding that Kumar will be asked to provide his account of the events that occurred at the restaurant on Monday.
