One of tailor’s killers was present near shop 12 days before murder in Udaipur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Investigation agencies have found that the main accused in Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal beheading case was present near the victim’s shop 12 days before the heinous murder and tried to intervene in an altercation that was taking place between the tailor and another person on June 16.
Probe agencies said Mohammed Riyaz Attari returned to the spot on June 28 along with Gaus Mohammed and beheaded Kanhaiya Lal.
Investigation agencies learnt about this altercation when they were looking into the June 16 CCTV footage of the victim’s shop.
Investigation revealed that a man along with his wife and kid went to Lal’s shop on a bike and had an altercation with Lal over his social media post in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
When the National Investigation Agency (NIA) examined the CCTV of the altercation between Lal and the other person, they also found that Mohammed Riyaz Attari on the spot trying to “intervene.” While the NIA has not explained in its chargesheet how Attari tried to intervene in the altercation, they corroborated his presence at
Lal’s shop that day through an examination of different persons. Investigators found that on the same day (June 16), Attari had come to visit Vasim Ali at the latter’s boutique near Lal’s shop when his attention was drawn to the altercation at Lal’s shop.
Attari spoke to Ali about what was happening at the tailor’s shop and why some people were abusing the owner. Ali then told Attari that the owner, Lal, had shared a controversial post on social media supporting Sharma.
