JAIPUR: A skin bank, which will be the first-of-its-kind in north India is coming up at Sawai Man Singh Hospital.
The “Rotary skin bank” is opening on Saturday, which will be inaugurated by chief secretary Usha Sharma, in the presence of medical education principal secretary Vaibhav Galriya, and Dr Sudhir Bhandari, principal and controller, SMS Medical College.
“The skin bank will store cadaver skin which will be used for healing of severe burn, disfigured injuries and other such injuries by grafting of skin taken from the skin bank. This will help in saving the life of severely burn patients,” said an official.
