Love affair turns tragic as man kills self, woman ends life 3 days after her wedding | Jaipur News
JAISALMER: A heart-wrenching love affair in Jaitmal village, within the Dhorimanna police station area of Barmer district, has resulted in two tragic suicides.
A young man, upset over his lover’s marriage to someone else, took his life by jumping into a water tank on July 4. Three days after the wedding, the newly married woman, too, ended her life by jumping into a well. The family of the man, Purkharam, 28, reported his drowning after slipping into the water tank.
On Friday, the father of the newly married bride, Anita, 22, filed a report stating that she had committed suicide by jumping into the well. Police have registered a case, and it is believed to be a matter related to their love affair. The entire incident is under intensive investigation.
Dhorimanna police said, Anita went to the cattle shed around 6 am on Friday to fetch milk but never returned. Upon searching for her, family members followed her footsteps and discovered her lifeless body in the well.
ASI Lakharam from Dhorimanna police said the body was handed over to her family after completing the post- mortem. Both the deceased individuals hailed from the same village.
