Rajendra Rathore is the BJP’s candidate for Taranagar, while Chhotu Ram represents the BSP. Co. Nirmal Kumar is in contention from the CPM, Narendra Budania from the INC, Vinay Kumar from JNKP, and Mukesh Laata from RLTP. The 2018 elections reported a 75.25% voter turnout in this constituency. In the previous election, INC’s Narendra Budaniya emerged victorious in Taranagar, securing 56,968 votes, while BJP’s Rakesh Jangir came in second with 44,413 votes. The polling day for Taranagar in the 2023 elections was November 25, with an impressive 82.51% voter turnout.

In the 2013 Assembly elections, the Taranagar constituency was won by Jai Narayan Pooniya of the BJP, with Congress candidate Dr. Chandrashekhar Baid as the runner-up.
