Temple Thefts: Interstate Gang Involved In Temple Thefts Busted, 3 Held | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: Sangad police of Jaisalmer district arrested three thieves busting an interstate gang involved in stealing from the temples. These thieves stole from Degrai temple from Jaisalmer district. In the inquiry, the gang members have confessed to stealing from many temples in Karnataka.
SP Vikas Sangwan said that on November 2 applicant Devi Singh priest at the temple in Sangarh police station area gave a reportthat on November 1 at 10pm he closed the temple and went to sleep at his house.the next day, when he opened the temple for Aarti at 5am, he saw the main gate of the temple open and silver plate, silver lamp, silver umbrella and other items were missing and some unidentified thieves stole the items.
The thieves stole around 2.250kg silver items and money and a small locket kept in the temple was also found missing.
Police lodging the case started the investigation. The SP said that a team was formed and based on technology searched the accused at Jaisalmer, Barmer and jodhpur and succeeded in detaining the 3 accused with the vehicle. They were interrogated and confessed to committing crime in Jaisalmer and Karnataka. The accused are umaid singh, 19, bhattaram 24 and Suresh residents of Balotra district. The stolen items and the vehicle used were seized. The accused are being inquired.

Sarvankar named head of Siddhivinayak temple trust

He replaces Aadesh Bandekar, a close aide of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Sarvankar’s appointment is for a three-year term starting from November 6, 2023. The SSGT operates the famous Siddhivinayak temple in Dadar and provides affordable dialysis services to patients in the city. Sarvankar’s appointment has faced criticism due to his alleged involvement in a shooting incident during Ganpati visarjan processions.
Foundation stone laid for elephant memorial at Tiruchendur temple
The Tamil Nadu government is set to construct an elephant memorial at Arulmigu Subramanya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur. The memorial, which will cost Rs 47 lakh, is part of the government’s initiative to protect temple elephants. Additionally, the government is upgrading 127 goshalas at 123 temples across the state with a budget of Rs 24 crore. Four more goshalas are planned to be established in different locations. The government is also overseeing the development of Tiruchendur temple with a budget of Rs 300 crore, with completion expected by 2025.
