Thana: Activists Seek Thana For Crimes Against Animals | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: City-based animal rights activists are organising a campaign from Thursday to put forward a 10-point list of demands to the state government. The demands include formation of at least one dedicated police station in every district to effectively handle and resolve crimes against animals.
“The eight-day campaign, aptly titled ‘Roar for Rajasthan’s Animals: Unite, Write, and Ignite Change’, aims to mobilise the collective power of Rajasthan’s compassionate citizens to demand stronger animal welfare measures from the government and various local authorities. The initiative seeks to raise awareness, enforce existing laws, and implement new initiatives that will safeguard the well-being and rights of animals,” said Mariam Abuhaideri, an activist.
In this campaign the animal activists would urge the residents to write “heartfelt letters” to key authorities, like the Prime Minister, district collectors, secretary of animal husbandry, secretary of local self government, commissioners of nagar nigams, chief minister, commissioner of police, minister of animal husbandry, chairman of state animal welfare board, Veterinary Council of India and director of public relations narrating the plight of animals, animal activists and the demands.
“Besides, we would organise live sessions with animal activists across the country, including Maneka Gandhi. To facilitate participation, a dedicated online form has been created where residents can register their involvement and receive detailed guidelines on addressing their letters,” Abuhaideri added.
