JAIPUR: Cabinet minister for animal husbandry Lalchand Kataria along with Jaipur collector on Friday visited Hingonia gaushala to take stock of the situation amid rising cases of lumpy skin disease. At the shelter, the minister was apprised that 80 cows were infected with the disease at the shelter of which 30 have already recovered and 50 are undergoing treatment. The minister instructed officials to ensure that medicine stocks are full at the shelter and veterinary doctors are always present to take care of the animals, said officials. The district collector said that to curb the disease no major animal fair will be conducted in Jaipur now and all bovines coming from outside will be kept under isolation. the minister asked officials from agriculture department to also engage in spreading awareness about the disease among farmers. He instructed officials working in different districts to publicise remedies and precautions being suggested by the state government to prevent the spread of disease in bovines. tnn
