Cops Arrest 5, Detain Minor For Killing Elderly Couple | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Police arrested five men and detained a minor on Thursday for allegedly killing an elderly couple to rob jewellery and cash from their house in Achrol in Jaipur (Rural) on Tuesday.
SP Jaipur (Rural) Rajeev Pachar identified the arrested men as ‘Soldier’, 20, Azad Bunkar, 19, Manish, 20, Narendra, 20, Rohit, 20, who along with the detained minor allegedly robbed and murdered Kajod Mal, 85, and Manbhari, 80, at their home.
“The accused had been following the victims for the past 15 days. We have arrested all those involved in the crime,” Pachar said.
Additional SP Dharmendra Yadav said that the vicitm, Kajod Mal, worked as a cleaner and lent money to people. “The accused knew that the couple had stored a lot of cash and jewellery. They decided to target them,” Yadav said.
As per Yadav, the accused conducted a thorough recce of the victim’s house for 15 days. “The accused met in a park to finalise their plan. They entered the victim’s house from the backdoor which was surrounded by wilderness,” he said. The accused tied up Kajod Mal and then strangulated him and his wife. “They fled with Rs 31,000 cash and jewellery from the house,” Yadav said.
The Jaipur (Rural) police constituted a special team to track down the perpetrators. “We took the help of cops who were posted at Chandwaji police station in the past. Ground intelligence also fetched us some vital clues,” Yadav said.
