4 Pose As Cops, Abduct Bizman In City, Arrested | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The Jaipur police Saturday arrested four persons for allegedly kidnapping a businessman from New Sanganer Road while posing as policemen and extorting a sum of Rs 50 lakh from him.
DCP (South) Yogesh Goyal said that the police have idenitfied the accused as Munesh Kumar Meena (25), Nitesh Meena, Mahesh Sharma (19), and Suman Meena (27).
“We have also recovered two country-made pistols with three cartridges, fake police uniform, and Rs 24 lakh of extortion money,” he said.
Goyal said that the incident took place on Tuesday when a Mansarover-based businessman was travelling in his car when one of the accused, clad in a police uniform, stopped the victim’s car at a secluded corner of the New Sanganer Road under the Shipra Path police station area.
The accused pointed their weapons at the victim and asked him to sit in their car. The accused also roughed him up and asked him to cough up Rs 2 crore. The businessman somehow managed to arrange Rs 50 lakh for his release.
The accused released the businessman after getting Rs 50 lakh. The victim then filed a complaint at the Shipra Path police station. Goyal said a team under Shipra Path SHO Nemi Chand has been formed. “We have found Suman Meena’s father had earlier worked as a driver for the victim,” he said.
