‘Tiger 3’ Box Office collection day 8: The Salman Khan starrer sees a dip on Sunday due to World Cup Finals
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Tiger 3’ which released on November 12 has been consistent over the past 8 days. The film has managed to hold well at the box office and entered the Rs 200 crore club on Saturday. ‘Tiger 3’ had done well on its first Saturday and made about Rs 17 crore. However, it saw a dip in the numbers on Sunday due to the World Cup Finals.
While it made Rs 17 crore on Saturday, on Sunday, it could only draw a number of Rs 10. 25 crore due to the match, as per Sacnilk.com. These are the early estimates. This is still a decent number despite such a big match – the fact that it’s still a double digit number. With this, the total so far of the Salman Khan starrer is now Rs 229.65 crore nett in all languages at the domestic box office.
‘Tiger 3’ has not faced competition from any other releases like ‘Khichdi 2’, however, this downfall can be due to the match. But Salman had a very good answer about the film getting affected because of the World Cup. At a recent event, he had said, “Har game India jeeti hai and us dauran hum aaye toh jo humare collections hai woh bhaut hi ache hai. India ab (World Cup) jeet jaegi aur uske baad aap sab wapas theatres mein (India won all matches so far and during the ongoing World Cup, we came up with Tiger 3. Our film drew good collections. Now India will win the World Cup and you all will return to theatres).”
Well, like Salman said that people will flock back to theatres after the World Cup, one hopes the film has a good collection over the coming days. It also has no competition from any other movie in the coming days. Salman and Katrina made the most out of the World Cup though, as they promoted the movie today during the match and chatted with the commentators at the stadium.
