Tiger Cubs: 2 Tiger Cubs Die In Buffer Area Of Ranthambore Reserve In 3 Days |

Jaipur: Two three-month-old tiger cubs died in buffer area of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve within three days, said officials on Friday.
Mohit Gupta, deputy conservator of forest (DFO), Ranthambore, said, “On September 5, we got information about a tiger cub lying near a river. A rescue team was sent within an hour. However, the cub died due to weakness. After this, teams were deployed the next day to monitor the area when two more cubs were rescued and given veterinary care with a medical camp being set up at the spot itself.”
The DFO said that one out of the two cubs had very low body temperature and even with a heater, the temperature was not stable, after which it died.
“The third cub is under medical supervision, and it has taken feed once, which is a positive sign. Around 100 forest staff have been deployed in the area where the cubs were found to track the mother tiger too along with the help of locals. The efficiency of our tracking team made it possible to track cubs in such remote area and save at least one of them,” added the DFO.
Officials said that the area where the cubs were found, is a sensitive area with respect to tiger movement and efforts are being done to include that area also under protected region.
