Barmer Congress Leader’s Murder: Rajput Netas, Mlas Join Protest | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: The Barmer police had not made any arrests even after more than 40 hours of the murder of Congress leader Aam Singh in Mithoda village in Siwana police station area past Monday midnight. Police officers said that 11 teams were on the search for the killers, but family members and villagers, especially from the Rajput community, sat on dharna outside the mortuary on Wednesday, refusing to take away the body.
SP Digant Anand reached to talk to the family members and other protesters. Siwana MLA Hameer Singh, Pachpadra MLA Madan Prajapat, Rajput Marwar Mahasabha president Hanuman Singh Khangata and other community leaders also arrived at the protest site and held talks with the administration.
According to police, Aam Singh, 60, after having dinner went to sleep on the terrace of his farmhouse. Between 2am-3am, neighbours heard some cries and called Singh on his phone. When he did not answer, neighbours called his son, Ganpat Singh. The son reached the spot and found Singh lying in a pool of blood, his throat slit.
Balotra ASP Subhash Khoja said police teams were making inquiries from many people for leads in the case. He said that the health of Malam Singh, eldest son of the deceased, deteriorated on Wednesday morning and he was admitted to the hospital in Padru, in the mortuary of which Singh’s body has been kept.
Rajput leader in Siwana, Bhawani Singh Mithoda, issued a press note saying that a mahapadao sit-in protest was being held outside the Padru hospital.
