Traffic Congestion: Nhai To Urge Collector To Revoke His Directive | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will send a letter to Jaipur district collector Prakash Rajpurohit on Thursday requesting him to revoke his directive to stop the construction works of flyovers on Jaipur Ajmer highway.
“We have made the draft of the letter. It needs to be cleared from our senior officials. We will send the reply on Thursday,” said a senior NHAI official.
On Monday, following a meeting at the district collectorate, the district collector had directed the NHAI to stop the construction works of these flyovers stating that the projects are resulting in huge traffic congestions on the highway.
Following the directive, officials of the NHAI had said that they would go ahead with the construction. “Even if we stop the works, traffic won’t be able to move on the main highway until and unless the entire project gets completed. Traffic would still have to be diverted on the adjacent arterial roads. So, there is no use stopping the project. We are going to request the state government to help us to complete the project within the stipulated deadline,”said Harish Chandra, the project director of NHAI.
