Traffic Signal-free Project: Illegal Structures Removed From Tonk Rd | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: To ensure smooth progress of traffic-free signal project at the B2B crossing on Tonk Road, the enforcement department of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) razed a few ‘illegal’ structures on Tuesday.
“There were a few temporary structures with tin sheds and boundary walls on this crossing that falls under the jurisdiction of Zone IV of JDA. We pulled these down Tuesday morning. These structures were constructed without any approval and were acting as a major hindrance for the traffic-free signal project JDA is implanting at this crossing,” said Raghuveer Saini, the chief of JDA’s enforcement wing.
JDA under the initiative of the state government is implementing traffic-free signal project at three important crossings of the city – the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha and the B2B crossing on Tonk Road and the OTS crossing on JLN Marg. While the project is almost completed at the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha, construction work is expected to start soon at the OTS crossing. Meanwhile, although JDA had started the construction work at the B2B Bypass, construction is going on at a snail pace at this crossing.
“The work for this B2B Bypass project started on January 7, 2021 and the deadline was July 2023. In no way, we would be able to finish the project on deadline. Besides, traffic, there are several hindrances at B2B Bypass,” a JDA engineer added.
