Jaipur: The Walled City area returned to normalcy on Sunday after protests had instilled fear and tension on Saturday, prompted by the tragic death of an 18-year-old youth. The market in Ramganj area remained open and was teeming with customers. Similar was the scene in Jorawar Singh Gate and Badi Chauper, where there was normal movement of people. Due to Sunday being a holiday, there was a huge crowd of tourists in the markets. However, the police remained on guard at all places.

Despite a setback during the first transplant attempt, a successful surgery was later performed using an organ from a nine-year-old patient in Karnataka. The boy will require lifelong immune-suppressing medications.

Miscreants armed with sticks threw items from garment shops, leading to the closure of shops and people seeking shelter in a temple. While the police did not impose curfew or restrictions, protests intensified and certain areas were cordoned off. Some tourists expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of warning about the situation. However, in areas like Bapu Bazar, shoppers continued to visit the market unaffected.
