Train Seat: Man Held For Killing 50-yr-old Over Seat Outside Jagatpura Stn | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The District Special Team (DST) of the city police arrested a 19-year-old man on Sunday for allegedly killing a 50-year-old man outside the Jagatpura railway station four days ago.
DCP (East) Gyan Chandra Yadav said that Chandresh Meena (50) was murdered outside the railway station on Thursday. “This tragic incident stemmed from an altercation over a train seat, we cracked the case and arrested the accused idenitfied as Jitendra Meena alias Dillu (19) and a resident of Dausa,” he said.
Yadav said that the victim, a native of Jhar village in Bassi, was attacked while leaving the Jagatpur station. “It appears that the victim was leaving the railway station after his companions went in different directions. One of the accused then contacted other individuals via phone and together attacked him,” he said.
Yadav explained that Meena worked as a cab driver for the electricity department and commuted to work daily by train. He further stated that a heated argument had arisen between the victim and the accused over sharing a seat on the train.
Police said that the accused arrived on a bike and attacked the victim with sticks. After leaving him bleeding, the culprits fled. A team from Jawahar Circle Police Station reached after receiving information and took Meena to a hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.
Yadav mentioned that police teams have spread out in various directions to apprehend the remaining accused, identified as Hem Ram Meena and others.
“It was a heinous offence because the victim was killed over a petty issue. Therefore, we treated the case with utmost seriousness and formed multiple teams to review CCTV footage and locate the accused, who had gone into hiding,” he said.
