Trial Run Of Bisalpur-ii Project By End Of Month, To Be Commissioned In June | Jaipur News
“The project is almost ready. We are going to start the trial run of bringing additional water through the new pump house in Renwal by May-end. There are a few other new inclusions in the Bisalpur water transfer system as a part of this project. We will commission these inclusions and, once we are satisfied we will commission the full project,” Satish Jain, superintendent engineer (project) told TOI.

Under the project water supply from Bisalpur Dam to Jaipur will increase from 600 million litres per day (MLD) to 816 MLD. To augment the facility, PHED officials are enhancing the capacity of the water treatment plant in Surajpura and installing nine new pumps at the intermediate pumping station in Renwal. Water will first reach Renwal from Surajpura and re-pumped to reach the storage facility in Balawala which is located at the entry point of Jaipur city in Sanganer.
“We have not replaced the main pipeline from Surajpura to Balawala in this project. This pipeline was laid in 2008 and is still sturdy. We augmented a few features of the present system so that additional water from Bisalpur can reach Jaipur,” added Jain.
A portion of the additional water would be provided in areas enroute like Bassi, Dudu, Sambhar and Phulera. But the lion’s share of water will be supplied to areas in Jaipur, where PHED will start giving new pipeline connections over the next few years.
“At present a few areas of eastern Jaipur – under jurisdiction of JMC Greater and JMC Heritage – are not connected with pipeline water. Under this project pipeline connections will be given to all the areas under these two civic bodies and would go beyond the periphery of the southern Ring Road and the proposed Northern Ring Road. Newly added areas will start getting connections in phases,” said an official.
