Two Cops Probing Murder Of Sikar Man Removed From Duty For Laxity | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Two policemen, including a chowki in-charge of Guhala village near Neem Ka Thana in Sikar and a constable, were removed by the superintendent of police following allegations of negligence in dealing with a complaint of the family of a 55-year-old man who was beaten to death on Wednesday evening. However, senior police officers stated that the allegations were not yet proved since the chowki in-charge was in Jaipur when the incident had taken place.
According to police, a man identified as Ganpat Lal, a resident of Guhala village near Neem ka Thana in Sikar district, had taken loans from some people on interest. “For a long time, those who had given money to him were asking him to return. On Wednesday Ganpat’s family invited them for talks at their residence where after a violent confrontation between the two groups Ganpat sustained injuries on Wednesday. Later, he succumbed on Thursday,” said a senior police officer of Neem ka Thana.
After the death on Thursday, Banwari Lal, the son of the deceased lodged a case of murder against eight persons and the villagers staged a sit-in against police for their laxity in investigation. Villagers blamed that despite the fact that they had informed the police when violent confrontation started Sunda Ram, the chowki in-charge and Ashok, his associate constable did not turn up.
“We have removed both Sundaram and Ashok. Prima facie it was found that villages did not inform the police on the violent confrontation not even at the police control room no 100. Also, Sundaram had gone to Jaipur at the high court for official duty. We have registered a case of murder against eight persons in this case,” said Kunwar Rastradeep, superintendent of police, Sikar.
