Two held after shootout with police for murder in Behror | Jaipur News

ALWAR/JAIPUR: Three days after unidentified goons shot dead a 30-year-old man in his village near Behror in Alwar district, the two main accused of the murder were arrested in an encounter with police in a hilly area of Rampur in the district early on Friday morning.
The goons had owned up to the chilling murder of Sanjay Khori, who was gunned down at point blank range near a temple, by uploading a video on social media after the incident. Khori had gone to the temple to play Holi. Police named the two arrested men as Ajay Khori and Ravindra.
One of the accused opened fire on police during the attempt to arrest them, and an SHO-rank officer was hit by a bullet but was saved due to the bullet-proof jacket he wore. In retaliatory firing by police, both the accused were injured as they tried to run in a hilly area, said police.
“We had a specific input that the accused identified as Ajay Khori was coming towards Alwar from Rewari of Haryana. Our teams were put on high-alert mode. When we found him coming towards Khor Basai village in the district, we asked him to surrender, but he opened fire on the police team. One bullet hit the police vehicle, and another hit an SHO. Our team then opened fire, in which Ajay received an injury on his leg and was arrested,” said SP Anil Beniwal to TOI. The encounter took place at around 4am when armed policemen were waiting for the goons to come towards Alwar. The second accused, Ravindra, was injured while running towards the hills in Rampur village, said the SP. Two rounds each were fired by police and the goons, he added.
