Two Held For Duping Odisha Banker Who Had Killed Self | Jaipur News

Jaipur: In a joint operation, a team of Odisha police with the Bhiwadi police in Alwar arrested two conmen who had allegedly blackmailed and cheated Rs 26 lakh from a manager of a bank situated at Barpali in Bargarh district of Odisha. The bank manager after the continuous blackmail had committed suicide in August this year.
According to police, victim identified as Divya Ranjan (30) was posted at the branch situated at Barpali in Bargarh district of Orrisa at the Punjab National Bank. “He was allured by the gang for a sex chat and was later dragged in sextortion. The two conmen had made the naked video of the bank manager and started blackmailing him. It is alleged that the bank manager had paid nearly Rs 26 lakh to the sextortion gang and finally he took an extreme step and ended his life by jumping into a river in August. A case was lodged at Dungari Pali police station of Odisha,” said an officer with Bhiwadi police.

After an intense investigation and technical surveillance of the phones used in the conning, the Odisha police found that the conmen who cheated and blackmailed the bank manager were from Jairoli and Serhota village in Bhiwadi area of Alwar district.
“They contacted us and shared some details. On Wednesday evening, a team of Odisha police came and our special team nabbed the two conmen and later provided their custody to the Odisha police,” the officer added.
The cons were identified as Mehboob Meo (24) and Aadil Meo (26) who are residents of Jairoli and Sarhota villages, respectively, under Tijara police station area of Bhiwadi. Initially, the Odisha police had lodged a missing complaint of manager and later found the body and incriminating evidences that suggested that he was blackmailed and conned.
